The coastal Torrance course is one of two golf courses at the Fairmont St Andrews
resort hotel. The course was designed by the late Gene Sarazen and past Ryder Cup
captain, Sam Torrance.
The golf course sits high above the town of St Andrews and is links in style. The
designers aimed to make use of the natural contours of the land over which the course
is set. A long course at 7,037 yards from the Championship tees, the Torrance can
become a serious test of golfing ability when the wind comes up from the St Andrews
Bay.
Whatever the conditions, the Torrance golf course is a challenge for all levels
of golfer.
