The New Course at St Andrews is actually over a hundred years old and is
probably the most famous of the sister courses of the world-renowned
St Andrews Old Course. There are six public links courses managed
by the St Andrews Links Trust with the New and
Jubilee
courses being two of the most challenging.
The New course was opened in 1895 and the course
layout was created by Tom Morris. It is considered by many as one of the
best golf courses on the St Andrews Links.
This is a classic links course which uses the natural features of the land to
create a first class golfing challenge. The golf course has the traditional out and
back layout with the 18th green just to the right of the first tee. It also
has, in true St Andrews tradition, shared fairways and a double green at the
3rd and 15th holes.
