Scotscraig Golf Club was created in 1817 and is one of the Final
Qualifying courses when the Open Championship is played at St Andrews. The
present golf course layout was created by James Braid in the 1920's and while
close to the sea, it presents an interesting combination of links and
heathland.
The course signature hole at Scotscraig is the 4th, a par 4
of average length but with heather terrain to a plateau green that is a
challenge to hit.
The golf course has smooth, fast greens and is normally in excellent condition. With
many whin bushes and the rolling nature of the fairways, the course is both
demanding and interesting. Players of all levels will find a day of golf at
Scotscraig an enjoyable challenge as part of their golfing break in Scotland.
